A Sedalian was arrested for drug distribution after a search warrant early Wednesday morning.
According to a Sedalia Police Department STING Unit news release, at 6:25 a.m. SPD officers served a drug-related search warrant at a residence in the 1500 block of East 10th Street. Upon entry into the residence, one person was located and detained.
A search of the residence revealed marijuana, digital scales, packaging material, a firearm and drug paraphernalia. On-scene interviews were conducted with the suspect. At the conclusion of the investigation, the evidence was collected and one person was taken to the Pettis County Jail.
Shay Alexander Cunningham, 24, of the residence, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute. He is at the Pettis County Jail on a $50,000 bond, cash or surety. Information on a hearing or arraignment was not available at press time.
