Soldier, dad returns home

Air Force Staff Sgt. Aaron Hoeffling surprised his daughter, Eden, 10, Wednesday at El Tapatio after returning from active duty for two and a half years in South Korea. He returned to Sedalia on Tuesday.

Hoeffling will officially retire from the Air Force March 1 after serving for 20 years. Hoeffling said, “it’s not quite real yet.”

Eden, a fourth grader at Skyline Elementary School, said she was so surprised because she didn’t think her father was coming home until March. “I asked Santa to bring my daddy home for Christmas,” she said.

Hoeffling said he is applying for jobs and has a long “honey-do” list awaiting him at home.
