Dickie-Doo Bar-B-Que entertainment schedule

Dickie Doo Bar-B-Que, 4800 S. Limit Ave., hosts a Jam Night at 8 p.m. every Thursday. Weekend bands are as follows:

Today: 9 p.m., Bluestem.

Saturday: 9 p.m., Karaoke.

Truman Lake Eagle Days

Saturday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Missouri Department of Conservation are hosting Truman Lake Eagle Days at the Harry S. Truman Visitor’s Center. A live eagle presentation by Dickerson Park Zoo, of Springfield, will take place at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Connie Koch, of Sedalia, will present a “Snakes Alive” program throughout the day. The event will be cancelled for inclement weather or hazardous travel conditions.

The Bones of Winter at Powell Gardens Seasonal Hike

Monday: 1 to 4 p.m., Join Powell Gardens’ Director of Horticulture Alan Branhagen and discover the beauty in the winter landscape. See the beauty of tree silhouettes, dried grasses, evergreens, winter seeds and berries. Experience the beauty and mysteries of nature and the changing seasons as the group hikes the 3.25-mile Byron Shutz Nature Trail. Long, outdoor hikes are a great way to stay fit and healthy. All participants must be able to walk nearly 4 miles over mulched and mowed terrains. Bring binoculars and wear waterproof footwear.

Powell Gardens is located at 1609 Northwest Route 50, on U.S. Highway 50 near Kingsville. Prepaid reservations of $9 for adult or $5 for members are required. Call Linda at 816-697-2600 ext. 209 for details.

Social Painting Classes
