Wassailing Celebration and Winter Feast

Saturday: 5 to 7:30 p.m., Powell Gardens is hosting a Wassailing Celebration and Winter Feast. Join Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s botanical garden, to sing to the health of the apple trees, imbibe some “ole recipe wassail” and enjoy a winter feast. The tradition of “wassailing” to encourage a productive apple harvest dates back at least to the 1500s.

After wassailing the trees, guests will return to the warmth of the roaring fireplaces in the grand hall of the Visitor Center for a country dinner featuring Heartland Harvest Garden produce and traditional wassail.

Prepaid reservations are required and seating is limited; $45/person. For details visit powellgardens.org/wassailing or call 816-697-2600 ext. 209. Powell Gardens is located at 1609 Northwest Route 50, on U.S. Highway 50 near Kingsville.
