Updated: Fire engulfs salvage yard west of Sedalia

Members of the Pettis County County Fire Department worked to put out a structure fire Sunday afternoon at Hwy Y. (West 16th Street) near Camp Branch Road west of Sedalia to Highway 127. When firefighters arrived at the scene the main structure of the salvage yard was in flames. The structure was thought to contain old tires and other automotive equipment. Firefighters were expected to remain on the scene for several hours to contain the fire.
