Two injured in Pettis crash
Two men were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 7:50 p.m. Wednesday in Pettis County.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Dilon J. Pettis, 19, of Hughesville, was driving south on U.S. Highway 50 at state Route O when he failed to stop for a stop sign and struck an eastbound vehicle driven by Scott L. Miller, 44, of Otterville.
Both vehicles traveled off the south side of 50 Highway and Miller’s vehicle overturned.
Miller was taken by the Pettis County Ambulance District to University Hospital in Columbia with moderate injuries. A passenger in Pettis’ vehicle, Seth L. Wollery, 19, of Sedalia, was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.
Reports indicate Pettis and Miller were both wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, but Wollery was not.
Woman injured in Sedalia wreck
A Sedalia woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident 8:33 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Kentucky Avenue.
According to a Sedalia Police Department report, Melany K. Cheyne, 58, of the 200 block of East Saline Street, was driving west on 16th Street at the Kentucky Avenue intersection. She said she was “daydreaming” and did not see the stop sign, entered the intersection without stopping and collided with a northbound vehicle driven by Cheryl L. Miller, 47, of Windsor.
Miller said she came to a complete stop at the intersection and was struck by Cheyne’s vehicle as she started through the intersection.
Cheyne was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for pain to her right wrist, neck and shoulders.
