One person was injured in a single vehicle accident at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, in Johnson County.
Philip J. Schaffer, 23 of Whiteman Air Force Base was driving on 431 highway south east of state Route Y when the vehicle he was driving travelled off the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. The vehicle then struck a fence and came to rest on the passenger side according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Schaffer was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, by Johnson County EMS where he was treated for moderate injuries.
It was not known if Schaffer was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
A Concordia woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 10 p.m. Saturday in Johnson County.
Jessica E. McCauley, 24, the a passenger in a vehicle driven by Robert M. Gieselman, 25 of Concordia suffered minor injuries in the accident according to a Missouri State highway Patrol Report.
The accident occurred when the vehicle driven by Gieselman northeast on 501 state Road at the junction of 900 Road slid off the north side of the roadway and struck a tree.
McCauley was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by private vehicle for treatment to her injuries.
Reports indicate neither McCauley nor Gieselman were wearing seat belt at the time of the accident.
A Knob Noster teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 12:15 a.m. on Sunday morning.
Dallas M. Bashrum, 18, of Knob Noster was driving a vehicle on state Route 23 north of state Road 400 when he swerved to avoid an animal in the roadway, causing the vehicle to travel off the west side of the roadway and overturn according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Bashrum, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported to Lee’s Summit Medical center by JCAD where he was treated for moderate injuries.
