Cole Camp teen hurt in crash

A Cole Camp teenager sustained moderate injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 3:25 p.m. Sunday in Benton County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Meghan D. Horner, 17, was driving west on state Route 52, a quarter mile from Morarity Avenue, when she stopped to make a left turn. Another westbound vehicle driven by Derek S. Eckler, 27, of Sedalia, overtook and struck the rear of Horner’s vehicle.

Horner was taken by Cole Camp Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center for her injuries.

Reports indicate both Eckler and Horner were wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Marshall woman injured in Saline

A Marshall woman sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 12:25 a.m. Monday in Saline County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ariel D. Benavides, 21, was driving west on state Route 20, just west of Green Avenue, when her vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and overturned.

Benavides, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Saline County Ambulance District to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for her injuries.

Vehicle overturns in Moniteau wreck

A Jamestown man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 5:21 a.m. Monday in Moniteau County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, John J. Lucas, 34, was driving south on state Route 87, just south of Mineral Branch Road, when his vehicle began to skid, traveled off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

Lucas, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Capital Regional Health Center in Jefferson City with moderate injuries.
