A man wanted for a Jackson County kidnapping has been arrested in Morgan County.

According to a Morgan County Sheriff’s Office news release, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office issued a release Nov. 24, 2015, asking for the public’s help in locating Michael P. Snider, 37, of Independence, who was wanted on a felony warrant issued June 2015 in Jackson County charging him with kidnapping and second degree domestic assault, stemming from an incident in Independence.

Snider was also being sought by the Grain Valley Police Department as a person of interest in a second kidnapping, which occurred in Grain Valley in November 2015.

On Tuesday, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Grain Valley Police Department, who reported they received a Crime Stoppers Tip that Snider was located at an address within Morgan County.

On Wednesday, the Morgan County Sheriff SWAT Team, assisted by the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Eldon Police Department SWAT Team, executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 31000 block of state Route 135 in Gravois Mills in an attempt to locate Snider. Upon execution of the search warrant, deputies located Snider and took him into custody on the outstanding warrants. As of Thursday, Snider is at the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office.

Both the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office and the Grain Valley Police Department are continuing to investigate other potential charges, which occurred in each of those jurisdictions. The investigations are ongoing.
