Nixon makes nomination to UCM Board of Governors

Gov. Jay Nixon announced this week a nomination to the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors. The nominee will be subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate.

According to a release from the governor’s office, Nixon has nominated Mathew R. Martinez, of Warrensburg, as the student representative on the University of Central Missouri Board of Governors. The board is the highest policy-making body of the university.

Martinez is an economics major who serves as floor leader of the University of Central Missouri Student Government Association, and was a legislative intern in the Missouri Senate during the 2015 General Assembly. The Governor has nominated him for a term ending Dec. 31, 2017.
