Syracuse teen injured in single-vehicle accident

A Syracuse teenager was injured in a single-vehicle wreck at 10:42 a.m. Sunday in Johnson County.

Laura E. McCarty, 19, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50 at Northeast 791 Road when she lost control of her vehicle on the slush covered roadway. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

McCarthy who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center where she was treated for minor injuries.

Three injured in Johnson County accident

Three people were injured in a vehicle accident at 8:28 a.m. Sunday.

Godfrey O. Edetanlen, 35, of Warrensburg was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 50 at Northwest Road 1201 Road when he lost control of the vehicle on the ice covered roadway . The vehicle he was driving traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Edetanlen and one passenger in the vehicle, 28 year old Jennifer K. Edetanlen were both transported to Lee’s Summit Hospital by EMS. Godfrey Edetanlen was treated for minor injuries. Jennifer Edetanlen was treated for moderate injuries. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

A second passenger, Mirabel M. Edetanlen, age unknown, was transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital by EMS where she was treated for moderate injuries. The second passenger was also wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.

Johnson County woman injured in accident

A Warrensburg woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 6:40 a.m. Sunday morning.

Debra J. Meyer, 47, was injured when she lost control of the vehicle she was driving on the ice covered State Highway DD at southeast 341 Road. The vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a curb according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Meyer who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by EMS where shew was treated for minor injuries.

Cole Camp teen injured in single-vehicle accident

A Cole Camp teen was injured in a single-vehicle accident in Pettis County early Sunday morning at 6 a.m.

Savannah L. Dieckmann, 17, of Cole Camp was driving a vehicle west on State Route B at Sacajawea Road when she lost control of the vehicle on the ice and snow covered roadway. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert before it came to a rest according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol Report.

Dieckmann, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident was transported by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center where she was treated for moderate injuries.

I-70 accident sends one to hospital

A Kansas City resident was injured in a one vehicle accident Sunday morning at 12:32 a.m. in Saline County.

Randee L. Powell, 28, of Kansas City was driving on eastbound Interstate 70 at the 83rd mile marker when the vehicle she was driving traveled off the left side of the road and Powell over corrected causing the vehicle to return to the road. The vehicle crossed the center line, left the road, and struck the guardrail. The vehicle then started to spin and struck the guardrail again before coming to a rest in the right lane of eastbound I-70 according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Powell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident was transported to the University of Columbia Hospital where she was treated for moderate injuries.
