Kingsville man injured in crash

A Kingsville man sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 6:15 p.m. Friday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Dalton R. Wedgeworth, 18, was driving north on state Route W, two-tenths of a mile south of County Road SW 25, when his vehicle hydroplaned, causing him to lose control. The vehicle then traveled off the right side of the road where it struck a ditch and overturned, striking a metal culvert in the process.

Wedgeworth, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for his injuries.

Sedalia man injured in motorcycle crash

A Sedalia man sustained serious injuries in a single-vehicle accident at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Johnson County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Gregory S. Harvey, 50, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50, east of NW 151 Road, when he laid his motorcycle on its side in an attempt to avoid being struck by an unidentified vehicle that was merging from the right lane to the left lane. Harvey’s vehicle slid eastbound in the left lane, ejecting him.

Harvey, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Lee’s Summit Medical Center for his injuries.

Kingsville man arrested for DWI

A Kingsville man was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated after a single-vehicle accident at 2:50 a.m. Sunday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Charles V. Locascio, 28, was driving north on County Road SW 1801 when he drove his ATV through the intersection at SW 375 and struck a tree and a wooden fence. Locascio was ejected from the vehicle.

Locascio, who was not using a safety device, was taken by Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City with serious injuries.

He was also arrested on a charge of careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.

Deer causes Morgan County crash

A St. Louis woman was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 10:40 p.m. Saturday in Morgan County.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Elizabeth M. Robinson, 29, was driving east on U.S. Highway 50, nine-tenths of a mile west of Lipton Road, when her vehicle collided with a deer and came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

Robinson, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.
