JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri Sen. Mike Parson and Sedalia Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Carolyn Crooker served pancakes inside the Rotunda at the Capitol Feb. 25.
Missouri Travel Council plans and coordinates all aspects of the Capitol Days for Tourism annual event, which is hosted jointly with the Missouri Hotel and Lodging Association, Missouri Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus, and the Missouri Association of Fairs and Festivals.
Crooker serves on the Executive Board for the MTC and is a board member for MACVB.
Missouri’s travel industry creates jobs, tax revenue and economic development. In FY15, Missouri welcomed more than 40.4 million visitors. Tourism’s total economic impact exceeded $15.9 billion dollars, and 297,129 Missourians earned their living through employment in travel and tourism related businesses. The state received $4.09 in state tax revenue for every dollar invested in the Missouri Division of Tourism.
