Drivers are asked to avoid traveling on Clarendon Road in Sedalia near the Missouri State Fairgrounds and State Fair Community College, as the road is blocked off after an officer-involved vehicle accident.

According to a witness on scene, Sedalia Police Department Officer John Cook was driving on Clarendon Road to respond to a call when another vehicle attempted to pass in front of the police vehicle, but it traveled in front of Cook’s vehicle. Cook’s vehicle then struck the second vehicle, described as an SUV.

Cook sustained possible injuries and was transported by the Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center.

The unidentified driver refused treatment at the scene.

Because it is an officer-involved accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is on scene conducting the investigation and report. More information will be posted as it is available.
