The Sedalia Bombers won for the second time at the NBC World Series, beating the Austin (Texas) Shockers 2-1 on Sunday in Wichita, Kan.
Another Bombers newcomer, Winston Lavendier, pitched eight innings for the win, allowing one run on two hits, striking out seven. Dan Chambliss came on in the ninth to earn the save.
Sedalia jumped ahead in the first when a Tony Sandifer single to right and an error by the Austin rightfielder scored Jess Cartner. A Hunter Leeper single in the fourth drove in Alex Bee.
The Bombers will face the Derby (Kan.) Twins on Tuesday.
