Central Missouri was among schools receiving votes in the AFCA preseason Division II football poll which was released Monday.
The Mules were picked just outside the top 25 with 82 points. Tuskegee was No. 25 with 98 points.
UCM won its final four games of the 2013 season to finish 6-4.
Three MIAA teams were ranked in the top 25 with Northwest Missouri State the near-unanimous No. 1. The defending national champions received 31 of the 32 first-place votes to outdistance No. 2 Grand Valley State. Pittsburg State is ranked No. 9 and Emporia State is No. 22.
Missouri Western and Washburn joined UCM among teams that received votes.
The Mules face Missouri Western to open the season Sept. 4.
