March 23 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 21

5:43 p.m.: Austin M. Dotson, 19, of the 400 block of East Third Street, was arrested at his residence on a charge of peace disturbance. The victim reported he was outside working on his vehicle when the suspect began yelling at him about making inappropriate advances toward the suspect’s wife. The suspect reportedly threatened the victim while holding a sledgehammer.

7:31 p.m.: Devin Ray Burnworth, 22, of Warrensburg, Jeromie Lee Reed, 25, of the 4000 block of Oregon Road, and Bear M.D. Manley, 31, of the 2300 block of West Third Street, were all arrested near the intersection of East 10th Street and South Massachusetts Avenue on a charge of public peace disturbance. All three suspects were standing in the roadway arguing. Reed was also arrested on a charge of destruction of city property.

March 22

12:11 a.m.: Ronald William Duncan Jr., 35, of the 18000 block of Farmer City Road, was arrested near the intersection of East 16th Street and South Washington Avenue on a charge of stealing. A traffic stop was conducted after the officer recognized the vehicle as being involved in a recent theft from Walmart. The male subject in the vehicle was identified as the theft suspect.

Incidents

March 21

4:10 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported near the intersection of South Kentucky Avenue and West Fourth Street. The suspect vehicle backed into the victim’s vehicle, causing minor damage, and left the scene without exchanging information.

March 22

7:10 a.m.: The window of a vehicle was reported broken allegedly using an axe and items were taken from the vehicle in the 1000 block of South Mildred Avenue. A neighbor reported their vehicle was unlocked and cash and other items were taken from that vehicle. The axe was taken as evidence, and the scene was fingerprinted and photographed.

Arrests

March 22

Richie A. Walters, 39, of Grain Valley, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of driving with a revoked license.
