April 5 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 1

6:47 p.m.: Bennie Elton Montgomery, 48, and Amy Irene Clark, 37, both of the 400 block of South Quincy Avenue, were both issued a municipal court summons in the 2400 block of West Broadway Boulevard for stealing. The suspects reportedly took several items off racks outside in front of a business and did not pay for them.

8:50 p.m.: Taylor Michael Gilliam, 18, of the 800 block of East Third Street, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of West 16th Street and Moniteau Avenue for possession of drug paraphernalia. A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for a missing brake light. A search of the vehicle found drug paraphernalia, which belonged to the driver.

April 2

10:17 p.m.: Charles Michael Billingsley, 29, of the 300 block of West 10th Street, was arrested in the 3100 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of failure to obey/resisting arrest. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a business. They located the subject, who was trying to fight others. He was arrested after a short struggle.

11:24 p.m.: Luis G. Martinez-Garcia, 51, of the 600 block of West Second Street, was arrested near the intersection of West Main Street and Industrial Avenue on charges of careless driving and operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. SPD received a complaint of a driver swerving and nearly hitting parked vehicles.

April 3

12:07 a.m.: Ana M. Marcos, 18, of the 1000 block of East 13th Street, was arrested in the 1200 block of East Fourth Street on charges of resisting arrest and second degree trespassing. Negina A. Melgar, 18, and Emily Melgar, 17, both of the 1400 block of East Sixth Street, were both arrested on charges of resisting arrest, second degree burglary and second degree property damage. SPD received a report of four subjects entering a residence by kicking in the back door and they refused to leave, but were gone prior to officer arrival. After a brief search of the area was conducted, three subjects were located. After a brief pursuit, they were all in custody.

12:10 a.m.: Kaleb T. Kelch, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested in the 1200 block of East Sixth Street on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers were responding to a burglary-in-progress when they were informed en route the suspects had fled. Officers checked the area, which included an unsecured, abandoned residence. While inside they encountered a squatter in possession of drugs and paraphernalia.

2:23 a.m.: Pierre Dedric Sams, 44, of the 100 block of West 14th Street, was arrested in the 100 block of East 16th Street on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

10:37 a.m.: Antoinette Lynn Korecky, 35, of the 900 block of Westwood Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South State Fair Boulevard on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

12:56 p.m.: Rachael Michelle Wirtz, 22, of the 1000 block of South Merriam Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Moniteau Avenue on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.

Incidents

April 1

4:05 p.m.: An unknown subject reportedly entered an unlocked residence in the 200 block of West 10th Street and stole clothing and electronics.

6:54 p.m.: An outdoor air conditioning unit, valued at $1,000, was reported stolen from a residence in the 1100 block of West 14th Street. The responding officer noticed the copper pipes and wiring had been cut.

Arrests

April 2

12:16 a.m.: Heather R. McCary, 25, of Lincoln, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no seat belt and no headlamps illuminated.

April 3

1:20 a.m.: Daniel R. Mills, 20, of Latham, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to equip a vehicle with a rear license lamp.

11:12 a.m.: Tony R. Fulcher, 19, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County on a charge of third degree assault.

April 4

10:25 a.m.: John T. Johnson, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested in Saline County on charges of possession of a controlled substance and no safety belt.

12:14 p.m.: Erendira Y. Rebollar, 26, of Wilmington, California, was arrested in Saline County on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
