April 6 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 4

11:02 p.m.: Alejandro Avila, 44, of the 600 block of North Stewart Avenue, was arrested at his residence on charges of careless driving, driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license and leaving the scene of an accident. Officers were dispatched to a hit-and-run vehicle accident. A witness heard a vehicle crash and observed a vehicle driving through a neighbor’s lawn and then leave the area. Officers checked the area for the vehicle and located it and the driver in an alleyway east of North Stewart Avenue and south of West Johnson Street. Investigation revealed the driver was operating the vehicle while intoxicated and the vehicle traveled into a concrete drainage ditch culvert in the 800 block of West Henry Street.

Incidents

April 3

9:22 p.m.: Officers responded to a business in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard to speak with a victim who reported she had been assaulted in the 300 block of East Seventh Street. The female victim told officers she had been calming down the witness when the suspect started hitting and choking her and used a broken piece of glass to “stab” her in the hand. The witness said there was an argument between multiple people and then the victim and suspect started fighting each other. At the time of the report, officers were unable to get a statement from the suspect.

April 4

3:09 p.m.: A female subject reported she believes she lost her wedding ring at Kohl’s in the 4300 block of Wisconsin Drive. The ring, valued at $3,000, is described as two gold rings soldered together with a triangle-shaped diamond. There are no suspects or witnesses.

4:22 p.m.: Robbin R. Hutchison, 43, of Rich Hill, was arrested in Henry County on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding and no seat belt.
