April 28 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

April 25

6:12 p.m.: John R. Hicks III, 31, of the 1400 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested at his residence on a charge of first degree property damage. A victim reported their vehicle was damaged. A witness told officers they saw a neighbor carrying a weapon and walking away the night prior. The neighbor denied shooting at the vehicle. The witness positively identified the neighbor as the person with the weapon. A search warrant was conducted at the suspect’s residence and CO2 cartridges, BBs and ammunition was seized.

April 26

5 a.m.: James R. Phillips, 46, of the 1000 block of East 10th Street, was arrested near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and Industrial Boulevard on a charge of forgery. A traffic stop was conducted for improper registration and improper lane use. It was discovered the subject had fraudulently applied 2016 expiration stickers to the license plates. The subject was arrested and released at the scene.

2:10 p.m.: Destiny Dawn Rose, 26, of the 30000 block of Ball Road, was arrested in the 900 block of East 16th Street on a charge of stealing. The subject allegedly stole a purse from another client.

2:43 p.m.: Willie Bernard Carter, 65, of the 100 block of East Johnson Avenue, was arrested at his residence on a charge of harassment. The suspect allegedly threatened the victim during an argument.

6:38 p.m.: Brianna Nicole Johnson, 31, of the 27000 block of Griessen Road, was arrested in the 4300 block of Wisconsin Drive on a charge of stealing. An asset protection associate at a business int he 4300 block of Wisconsin Drive recognized a subject as the suspect in a stealing case April 24.

Incidents

April 26

1:11 p.m.: A subject reported she recently learned her 15-year-old daughter was raped on two occasions in the 600 block of East 16th Street about two months ago.

3:28 p.m.: A female victim reported she was assaulted by the father of her child near the intersection of East Saline Avenue and North Engineer Avenue. She did not need medical attention. Contact has not been made with the suspect. A charge of assault is being submitted against the suspect.

5:25 p.m.: Copper from two non-working air conditioning units and a 12V deep cycle car battery, combined value of $150, were reported stolen in the 2100 block of Clinton Road from a fenced-in area not accessible to the public.

7:13 p.m.: A known suspect made illegal entry into a business in the 300 block of South Lamine Avenue while it was closed and stole $200.
