July 3 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 29

3:20 a.m.: Michael V. Frain III, 34, of the 800 block of West Seventh Street, was arrested in the 600 block of East 14th Street on charges of first degree trespassing, resisting arrest and third degree assault on a law enforcement officer.

July 1

3:40 p.m.: Ronald D. Baker, 58, of the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East Fourth Street and Engineer Avenue on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

July 2

7:27 a.m.: Zachary T. Fisher, 20, of the 2700 block of Southgate Lane, was arrested in the 1600 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of first degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

Incidents

July 1

7:38 p.m.: A victim reported his identity had been stolen. KCP&L informed him someone had used his name to open an account.

8:59 p.m.: A subject reportedly entered a business in the 600 block of North Ohio Avenue with a gun and demanded money. The suspect ran out of the business before money was taken. No injuries were reported. The suspect had not been located as of the time the report was filed.

July 2

10:16 a.m.: Two vehicles were reported damaged in the 600 block of West Sixth Street. A key was broken off in the key slot of both vehicles, one had damage to the front hood and the other had damage to the rear windshield wiper. Damage was estimated at $300.

11:54 a.m.: A blue Next bicycle was found in the 1700 block of South Moniteau Avenue.

2:03 p.m.: A victim in the 900 block of Gregory Lane reported his identity had been stolen. When he attempted to file a tax return with the IRS, he was informed someone had already filed in his name.

2:50 p.m.: A victim in the 900 block of Winchester Drive reported his identity had been stolen. When he and his wife attempted to apply for a loan, they learned there was a large credit card balance against them on their credit report they knew nothing about.

Arrests

July 1

1:17 a.m.: Ernest Bozarth, of Otterville, was arrested in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Incidents

June 30

8:24 a.m.: A green Yamaha Timberwolf four-wheeler and a 2004 Suzuki LTZ400 black-and-red four-wheeler were reported stolen in the 23000 block of state Route V.

10:19 a.m.: A window was reported on a R50 combine in the 16000 block of state Route B in Green Ridge.

4:10 p.m.: A theft was reported in the 1300 block of Boonville Road.

5:02 p.m.: A theft was reported in the 1700 block of East Timber Ridge Drive.

July 1

9:11 a.m.: Mail was reported stolen in the 30000 block of South Grand Avenue Road.

9:12 a.m.: Property damage was reported in the 5000 block of state Route Y.

July 2

7:43 a.m.: A U-Haul moving truck was reported stolen near the intersection of state Route 127 and Baker Road in La Monte. The reporting party stated someone broke open the lock box, took a key and drove away with a 14-foot moving truck.

July 1

10 p.m.: Shawn M. Lung, 38, of Independence, was arrested in Johnson County on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
