This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 3

12:50 p.m.: Gregory J. Padgett, 68, of the 1600 block of Clarendon Road, was arrested near the intersection of West Seventh Street and South Harrison Avenue on charges of failure to signal on turn and driving while intoxicated. A motorist observed a red Volvo driving erratically westbound on East Broadway Boulevard. The motorist followed the driver and reportedly observed him narrowly miss a light pole, drive in the opposite lane nearly hitting an oncoming vehicle, then park near Seventh and Harrison and fall asleep. The driver was checked on and awakened. The driver started the car again and drove northbound in the opposite lane of traffic, ran stop signs and almost hit another vehicle. Officers caught up with the vehicle and it stopped at Main Street and Park Avenue. The driver was found to be intoxicated/medicated.

7:38 p.m.: Quincy Diamond Pierce, 21, of the 1400 block of South Sneed Avenue, was arrested at his residence on a charge of third degree assault. Officers responded to a disturbance. The victim stated she was hit by the suspect. The victim had a split lip and the side of her face was red.

Incidents

May 3

7:32 p.m.: An officer responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center for a report of an assault. The victim reported they were assaulted by a suspect near the intersection of West 11th Street and South Stewart Avenue. The officer observed multiple injuries to the victim’s facial area. The suspect had not been located at the time of the report.
