May 10 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

May 6

2:28 p.m.: Jeremy Wayne Vinyard, 37, of the 300 block of Buckner Court, was arrested at his residence on a charge of abuse of a child. A 6-year-old had injuries to the chest and ear. In an interview with detectives, the child disclosed his father caused the injuries.

May 7

8:48 p.m.: Rodney Drake Ballew, 35, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Moniteau Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

May 8

3:30 a.m.: Oscar Diaz Padilla, 18, of the 1700 block of West 18th Street, was issued a municipal court summons in the 200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a minor violation. He made contact with the subjects and could smell the odor of marijuana. He conducted a probable cause search and found drug paraphernalia.

2:12 p.m.: Angela L. Barney, 38, of the 1200 block of South Osage Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 13th Street and South Osage Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

6:29 p.m.: Jeremiah Christopher Coleman, 38, of the 500 block of East Seventh Street, was arrested in the 300 block of East Seventh Street on a charge of public peace disturbance. An officer responded to a physical disturbance involving numerous people outside a residence. It was later determined an intoxicated male subject was refusing to leave and started becoming physical with the residents.

8:45 p.m.: Trichton E. Dotson, 18, of Mora, was issued a municipal court summons in the 400 block of West Fourth Street for possession of marijuana. An officer responded to a report of unauthorized subjects in the backyard of a residence.

9:15 p.m.: Damon L. Buckner, 40, of the 2500 block of Southwest Boulevard, was arrested at his residence on a charge of assault. An officer responded to Smith-Cotton Junior High for a report of an assault. The victim said the suspect punched him in the head. The suspect was later located and arrested.

Incidents

May 8

8:28 a.m.: A hit-and-run was reported in the 1600 block of South Lamine Avenue. A 2012 Chevrolet was hit while parked in front of a residence.

9:12 a.m.: A victim in the 2400 block of Margaret Avenue reported he noticed his credit card was missing from his wallet. He checked his account and there were three transactions for cash advances totaling $729.
