This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 5

3:37 p.m.: Dalton Wright, 23, of the 1200 block of South Massachusetts Avenue, was arrested in the 1200 block of South Lamine Avenue on a charge of stealing. A victim reported someone stole their Trek X Caliber bicycle from their residence’s front porch and pawned it at a local pawn shop.

June 6

5:42 p.m.: Daniel L. Moss, 52, of Olathe, Kansas, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on charges of first degree trafficking drugs, distribution of synthetic narcotics and driving with a revoked license. Officers responded to a business for a report of suspicious activity. The caller said a male subject tried selling him drugs. The subject was located and a search of his vehicle found 90 grams of methamphetamine.

6:27 p.m.: Jesse Robert Smith, 49, no address given, was arrested in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of first degree trespassing. An intoxicated subject reportedly entered a business and he was previously issued a written warning for trespassing at the business.

7:31 p.m.: Brandon Ross Smith, 29, of the 1100 block of South Massachusetts Avenue, was arrested at his residence on a charge of third degree domestic assault. A female victim reported the suspect hit her with a bicycle, causing a cut on her leg. Officers made contact with the suspect in the residence’s basement.

Incidents

June 7

3:05 a.m.: An assault was reported in the roadway on South Grand Avenue near West 16th Street. The victim reported he was assaulted by an unknown subject. After the assault he went to a nearby business to call police. He sustained minor injuries from being punched in the face and requested to go to Bothwell Regional Health Center for evaluation. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

8:10 p.m.: A victim reported a subject broke into her residence in the 2600 block of Maplewood Lane in Sedalia and stole several items.
