June 20 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

June 14

11:02 p.m.: Joshua Tyler Friedly, 19, of Columbia, and Jacob Levi Lopez, 21, of the 1500 block of East Fourth Street, were both arrested near the intersection of West 32nd Street and South Limit Avenue on charges of distributing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. An officer was investigating an abandoned vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road with its hazard lights on. The driver and passenger of the vehicle arrived and told the officer the vehicle had run out of gas. After further investigation, the pair was arrested on various charges.

June 16

5:40 p.m.: Jonathan D. Hannah, 36, of Buffalo, was arrested in the 400 block of West Fourth Street on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

7:34 p.m.: Joe Fernandez Jr., 47, of the 1200 block of South Moniteau Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Warren Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

June 17

7:13 p.m.: Raneice L. Young, 54, of the 600 block of South Washington Avenue, was issued a municipal court summons in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for stealing. The complainant reported the suspect stole $34.09 worth of merchandise from a business. The suspect admitted to stealing the items.

9:06 p.m.: Christopher A. Vieth, 31, of the 1500 block of West Main Street, was arrested in the 1200 block of Spring Street on a charge of failure to obey. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. They made contact with the subjects described by dispatch. The male subject refused to identify himself after being informed why the officers were there. The subject remained uncooperative and was arrested.

June 15

2:40 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported in the 500 block of East 11th Street.

June 16

8:19 a.m.: A 2004 Yamaha Zuma scooter, valued at $2,000, was reported stolen from the backyard of a residence in the 2200 block of West Fifth Street.

10:08 a.m.: Furniture, valued at $700, was reported stolen from a residence in the 1400 block of South Kentucky Avenue.

3:20 p.m.: A female victim reported she was assaulted by a male subject known to her at her residence in the 400 block of North Missouri Avenue. The subject allegedly came into the residence and slammed the victim down. She had red marks on her arm and neck. The victim was taken by Pettis County Ambulance District to Bothwell Regional Health Center. The subject left prior to officer arrival and charges will be requested.

June 17

12:47 a.m.: A female victim reported her juvenile brother hit her repeatedly in the face with a closed fist in the 2400 block of North Woodlawn Drive. The victim had a swollen eye and was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center. The incident was referred to the Pettis County Juvenile Office.

8:02 a.m.: A subject in charge of the Sedalia Girls Softball League reported someone had withdrawn $30,000 to $40,000 from the organization’s bank account.

8:37 a.m.: The windshield, driver and passenger windows were reported broken on a vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 100 block of South Park Avenue.

10:09 p.m.: A victim in the 1300 block of East 22nd Street reported someone in another state used his identity to withdraw $3,500 from his checking account.

June 18

8:56 a.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported in a business parking lot in the 900 block of Winchester Drive.

11:23 a.m.: Three swings were reported stolen from a swing set in the 1000 block of South Massachusetts Avenue.

June 17

6:23 p.m.: Richard T. Woods, 22, of Rolla, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

10:53 p.m.: Gerald L. Wagler, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.

June 19

12:52 a.m.: Ethan L. Stout, 18, of Hughesville, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of careless and imprudent driving and resisting arrest.

1:20 a.m.: William B. Vandever, 52, of Stover, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and failure to display lighted lamps while parked.

2:59 a.m.: Clayton S. Bulloc, 21, of Warrensburg, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of marijuana, speeding and lane violation.

3:52 a.m.: Thomas J. Moore, 49, of Lexington, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated and registration violation.
