July 8 Police Reports

This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department


July 3

1:20 a.m.: Matthew K. Johnson, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested near the intersection of East Sixth Street and South Ohio Avenue on a charge of open alcohol container.

July 4

2:07 a.m.: Noah James Mitchell, 36, of the 2000 block of East Seventh Street, was arrested at his residence on charges of third degree domestic assault and third degree assault.

July 6

11:36 a.m.: Samantha Renea Jacobs, 28, of the 900 block of South Merriam Avenue, and Jared Brian Monsees, 26, of the 100 block of East 14th Street, were both arrested near the intersection of West Ninth Street and South Grand Avenue on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of synthetic narcotics.

6:01 p.m.: Terry Lee Stevson, 30, of La Monte, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on charges of forgery and stealing.


July 1

11:10 a.m.: A victim in the 2700 block of South Massachusetts Avenue reported a subject known to her entered her residence and stole a credit card. The victim stated she had noticed the credit card had been used to make purchases in the Kansas City area.

July 6

6:50 a.m.: A 1997 maroon Ford F-150 with a black cattle guard on the grill was reported stolen in the 2000 block of West 14th Street.

7:59 a.m.: $200 was reported stolen from a residence in the 2400 block of West Main Street.

10:44 a.m.: $25 worth of gas was reported stolen in the 3000 block of South Limit Avenue.

2:34 p.m.: A victim reported leaving his wallet at a business in the 2600 block of East Broadway Boulevard. When he went back to retrieve it, someone else had given his information and obtained the wallet.

7:43 p.m.: A seven-inch LG tablet was reported stolen from a residence in the 700 block of East 24th Street.

8:26 p.m.: Property damage was reported in the 1000 block of South Merriam Avenue. During the investigation, it was determined a domestic assault had also taken place during the original incident.

July 7

11:42 a.m.: Several credit cards, a dress and shoes were reported stolen from a residence in the 1500 block of West Fourth Street.

12:19 p.m.: A domestic assault that occurred July 3 was reported in the 1800 block of South Grand Avenue.

2:27 p.m.: A subject in the 1500 block of South Quincy Avenue reported an attempted scam when he answered an Internet ad to be a secret shopper for a national department store chain. He received several letters in the mail, along with a check and money order, which the letter asked him to cash quickly.

July 6

10:02 a.m.: Adam Snyder was arrested in the 4200 block of West Main Street on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon.


July 6

9:03 a.m.: A black Angus bull was reported lost or stolen in the 31000 block of Overstreet Road.

July 6

6:54 p.m.: Reynold E. Peoples, 65, of Versailles, was arrested in Benton County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
