This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
Sedalia Police Department
12:29 p.m.: Bennie E. Montgomery, 49, of Lincoln, was arrested in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Avenue on a charge of stealing after allegedly stealing items from a business.
11:31 a.m.: Anthony Dwane Driskell, of the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard was arrested in the 1600 block of East Broadway Boulevard on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded to a disturbance at a business. They requested consent to search the subjects. The officer located 0.3 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
1:11 p.m.: Zachary S. McGuire, 35, no address given, was arrested in the 300 block of Curry Drive on a charge of possession of marijuana. Officers conducted a subject check and discovered the man had two warrants. Prior to transport to the Pettis County Jail, his wallet contained a bag of a green leafy substance.
9:01 a.m.: A father reported his 9-year-old son had been abused by the child’s biological mother’s boyfriend in the 700 block of East 10th Street. The child did not need medical attention.
12:45 p.m.: A lawn mower, valued at $50, was reported stolen from a garage in the 1200 block of South Moniteau Avenue and 60 Oxycodone pills were reported stolen from inside the residence.
2:20 p.m.: A subject reportedly kicked in the back door of a residence in the 600 block of West Fourth Street and went through the house. The victim reported $1,200 in cash, an iPad, crackers and snacks had been stolen.
4:21 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported near the intersection of South Limit Avenue and West 16th Street. The suspect driver agreed with the victim to pull into a nearby parking lot but fled the scene before exchanging information.
5:43 p.m.: A black 2016 Harley Davidson 883 sportster was reported stolen from a residence in the 1300 block of West 14th Street.
8:52 a.m.: A counterfeit $20 bill was reportedly used at a business in the 1900 block of West Main Street.
10:42 a.m.: An employee reportedly used a company credit card in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard to purchase $600 worth of merchandise online with a delivery address in New York. The employee denied any involvement.
