Aug. 20-21 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Aug. 13

4:43 a.m.: Ryan F. Hunt, 40, of Arkansas City, Kansas, was arrested in the 2500 block of West 16th Street on charges of sexual misconduct and third degree assault on a law enforcement officer. Officers responded to a report of a subject passed out behind the steering wheel of a truck at the Missouri State Fair campgrounds. The made contact with him, who was heavily intoxicated. He exposed his genitals to the officers. They attempted to take the man into protective custody and he assaulted two officers. The WRAP device was applied to the subject for protective measures.

Aug. 16

5:16 p.m.: Wesley A. Franken, 28, of the 2800 block of South Ingram Avenue, was arrested in the 1400 block of South Moniteau Avenue on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

5:57 p.m.: Sean Sebastian Burke, 45, no address given, was arrested in the 400 block of West Pettis Street on charges of resisting arrest, second degree assault and second degree property damage. Officers responded to a report of a disturbance. A female reported she was assaulted by the male suspect.

9:49 p.m.: Audrey Williams, 33, of the 1900 block of South Washington Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West Third Street and South Missouri Avenue on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. A traffic stop was conducted for a driver not using a turn signal. The driver fled the area and was not located. The passenger was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Aug. 18

1:04 a.m.: Elliott Albert Keller, 20, of Chillicothe, was arrested in the 2500 block of West 16th Street on a charge of possession of liquor by a minor. Officers responded to the Missouri State Fair campgrounds for an apparent intoxicated person urinating in public.

6:32 a.m.: Carla Sue Stephens, 42, of the 800 block of West Third Street, was arrested in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of stealing. She allegedly stole a 12-pack of beer from a business and left without paying.

3:02 p.m.: Samantha L. Clawson, 38, of the 1300 block of South Porter Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East 13th Street and South Center Avenue on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

8:17 p.m.: Kayla L. Benton, 27, of the 3600 block of South Kentucky Avenue, was arrested in the 1200 block of South Washington Avenue on a charge of second degree domestic assault. A man reported a woman he has children in common with assaulted him. She allegedly grabbed him, choked him, and then threw a small section of concrete at him.

Aug. 19

12:15 a.m.: Justin K. Bryan, 23, of the 1300 bock of South Vermont Avenue, was issued a municipal court summons near the intersection of West 13th Street and South Moniteau Avenue for possession of marijuana. A traffic stop was conducted and marijuana was found during the investigation.

Aug. 4

8:33 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported in the 4400 block of Wisconsin Drive.

Aug. 16

12:21 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported in the 1600 block of East 10th Street.

3:53 p.m.: A sexual assault was reported in the 2200 block of South Grand Avenue. The victim reported they were at Katy Park Saturday and a suspect he knows followed him into the bathroom and assaulted him.

Aug. 17

9:17 a.m.: Graffiti with black spray paint was reported on the north side of a city-owned building. It appeared someone tried to gain access to the building through old sliding doors.

Aug. 18

4:41 p.m.: Multiple unspecified items, valued at $1,770, were reported stolen during a burglary in the 300 block of East Howard Street.

Arrests

Aug. 16

5:37 p.m.: Kevin E. Dotson, of Stover, was arrested in the 3600 block of South Limit Avenue in Sedalia on charges of driving with a suspended license, speeding and no seat belt.

Incidents

Aug. 18

7:41 p.m.: A victim reported someone broke out the window of his 1998 Ford Expedition in the 30000 block of Ball Road in Sedalia.

Aug. 19

6:49 a.m.: A victim in the 22000 block of Sacajawea Road in Sedalia reported that sometime after midnight someone broke out all the side windows and rear window on his truck. The front windshield was struck several times, the body paint was severely scratched and tires on the passenger side were slashed.

Aug. 17

2:57 p.m.: Lucas A. Miller, 21, of Malta Bend, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated, speeding and no seat belt.

7:57 p.m.: John A. Ersey, 20, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving with a suspended license, speeding and no seat belt.

Aug. 18

2:45 a.m.: Charles R. Sawyers, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

11:30 a.m.: Patrick L. Heiland, 44, of Centertown, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of operating a commercial motor vehicle while the operator was out of service, driving with a suspended license and failure to comply with a court order requiring use of an ignition interlock device.

4:16 p.m.: William M. Donnell, 61, of Sweet Springs, was arrested in Saline County on charges of no valid license and no seat belt.

6:30 p.m.: Dawn M. Andrews, 53, of Oklahoma City, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
