March 3 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 28

9:38 a.m.: Jamaine J. Davis, 23, of the 1400 block of East Broadway Boulevard, was arrested at their residence on charges of forgery and stealing. While an officer was on routine patrol, they located a subject wanted by the SPD Detective Unit for a forgery and theft case. The subject was arrested, interviewed by detectives and later released.

7:14 p.m.: Joshua Ryan Phillips, 22, of the 400 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested near the intersection of West First Street and North State Fair Boulevard on a charge of driving with a revoked license. Kayla Marie Prall, 25, of the 2400 block of West Third Street, was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle without a license plate light. A computer check revealed the driver had a revoked license. The passenger, who had borrowed the vehicle, gave consent to search the vehicle. She said she had drugs in her purse and handed the officer a small baggie of methamphetamine.

9:43 p.m.: Jordan Michael Gilmore, 25, of the 1300 block of 14th Street, was arrested near the intersection of East 14th Street and South Center Avenue on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

Incidents

Feb. 28

4:25 p.m.: A vehicle was reported stolen from a business in the 2100 block of South Limit Avenue. The business reported it rented the vehicle from Dec. 31, 2016, to Jan. 20 and it has still not been returned after multiple attempts to contact the suspect.

March 1

8:58 a.m.: A recreational vehicle was reported stolen in the 900 block of South Normandy Road. The victim said they went to check the RV after the hail storm and found the gate open and the RV gone. It is described as a light gray 28-foot Cougar X Lite Travel trailer, valued at $32,000.

10:37 a.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported in the 500 block of West Fourth Street.

4:27 p.m.: The rear windshield of a vehicle was reported shattered in the 1100 block of West 16th Street.

Arrests

March 1

8:11 p.m.: Glen M. Naylor, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested in Saline County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

11:17 p.m.: Melvin E. Osburn, 19, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, speeding, displaying the license plates of another, no seat belt and no valid driver’s license.

March 2

11:07 a.m.: Joshua S. Young, 37, of Lincoln, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right half of the road.
