March 8 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

March 7

10:29 a.m.: Tyler Ray Hice, 23, of the 4200 block of West Main Street, was arrested in the 1300 block of South Kentucky Avenue on a charge of possession of marijuana. An officer made contact with the subject in the area and found he had an active Failure to Appear warrant from Sedalia. The man was placed under arrest and the officer found a small baggie of marijuana in the man’s pocket.

Incidents

March 6

11:39 a.m.: A water heater and two TV-related devices were reported stolen from a residence in the 700 block of North Grand Avenue.

5:08 p.m.: A TV, valued at $133, was reported stolen from a residence in the 500 block of West Seventh Street.

7:58 p.m.: A victim reported a neighbor came into their residence in the 2400 block of Woodlawn Drive and punched him in the face. The suspect then reportedly tried climbing through the window after the victim slammed the door on him.

Incidents

March 6

3:55 p.m.: A firearm was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 24000 block of state Route 765 in Sedalia.

Arrests

March 6

4:25 p.m.: Craig A. DeWitt, 19, of Warsaw, was arrested in Benton County on charges of possession of a controlled substance (hash oil) and speeding.
