March 15 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

March 9

7:37 a.m.: Michael A. Ayers, 21, of Kingdom City, was arrested in the 800 block of South Limit Avenue on charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance and disobeying a signal. Officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run vehicle accident at the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South State Fair Boulevard. A victim and two witnesses said the suspect vehicle was traveling east and drove through a red light, colliding with a southbound pickup truck. Subjects said the driver pulled into a parking lot behind Creative Audio, drove behind the building and fled on foot. He was later located walking through the Taco Bell parking lot where he was taken into custody without incident.

March 13

9:46 a.m.: Bonnie Jean Carey, 38, of the 1800 block of East Sixth Street, was arrested near the intersection of East 10th Street and South Garfield Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

7:15 p.m.: Heather Renee Nichols, 26, of the 100 block of East 11th Street, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

9:24 p.m.: Jennifer Lin Woolery, 42, of the 2600 block of Wing Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East 18th Street and South Lamine Avenue on a charge of driving while intoxicated. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle without a license plate light and not using a turn signal to pull over to the side of the road. Investigation revealed the driver was intoxicated. She was taken to the SPD station. A search warrant was later granted for the driver’s blood.

March 14

2:16 a.m.: Corey J. Grigsby, 36, of the 1100 block of South Lamine Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East 12th Street and South Lamine Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana. An officer conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with expired license plates. Investigation revealed he had a suspended license and was in possession of marijuana. Information from dispatch also revealed he had a Failure to Appear warrant from Warren County for driving while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license and a Failure to Appear warrant from Sedalia for four counts of driving with a suspended license.

10:56 p.m.: Cheyenne R. Sutherlan, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested in Benton County on charges of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
