Sedalia Police Department
8:43 a.m.: Jamar M. Staten, 20, of the 3000 block of Jerome Drive, was arrested in the 200 block of West Second Street on charges of first degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. Staten is accused of stabbing a victim in the mid-section at 2:54 a.m. Aug. 2. The victim was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center and then University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. A witness later identified Staten as the suspect.
8:32 p.m.: Haley Nichole Piers, 19, of the 600 block of North Missouri Avenue, was issued a municipal court summons in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard for stealing.
2:31 p.m.: Thomas Lenard Lee, 44, no address given, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of stealing.
5:57 p.m.: Jennifer R. Church, 28, of the 1100 block of South Harding Avenue, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of stealing.
7:01 p.m.: James Eugene Wyatt, 34, of the 500 block of West Young Street, was arrested near the intersection of West Sixth Street and South Grand Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
11:02 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported in a business parking lot in the 1600 block of South Limit Avenue.
10:26 p.m.: A female subject was reportedly assaulted by a male subject in the 1000 block of East 10th Street while she was attempting to get him to turn down his music.
11:14 a.m.: A cash drawer and an undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen from a business in the 1700 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The complainant was completing an inventory of stolen items, estimated to be more than $750.
4:54 p.m.: A purse containing $2.50 in change, an ID card and 120 Percocet pills was reported stolen from an unlocked car in the 2200 block of West Fifth Street.
7:50 p.m.: A pink/purple BMX-style bicycle, valued at $150, was reported stolen from inside a residence in the 1100 block of South Ohio Avenue.
Missouri State Highway Patrol
3:30 p.m.: Bryon L. Rhoads, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of two counts of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
12:49 a.m.: Jesse A. Murphy, 20, of Kingsville, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of driving while intoxicated, failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in a crash and minor visibly intoxicated.
