This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Sept. 12

7:18 a.m.: Michael L. Bogacz, 22, was arrested in the 1300 block of South Limit Avenue on a charge of possession of marijuana.

9:38 a.m.: Robert D. Chambers, 64, of the 1400 block of Liberty Park Boulevard, was arrested near the intersection of East Fifth Street and South Ohio Avenue on a charge of driving with a revoked license.

Incidents

Sept. 11

10:48 a.m.: A dealer plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of South Limit Avenue.

12:18 p.m.: A High Point C9 9mm pistol, valued at $159, was reported stolen from a safe in a residence in the 200 block of East Sixth Street.

7:07 p.m.: The rear license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 2900 block of James Road. The victim stated she noticed the front plate was hanging down and a screw was missing.

Sept. 12

6:44 p.m.: SPD officers responded to a disturbance involving a gun at a residence in the 3500 block of South Grand Avenue to assist Pettis County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Upon arrival, the suspect with the gun had left the scene in a vehicle. An SPD officer located the suspect vehicle near the intersection of 32nd Street and Stewart Avenue. A Pettis County deputy arrived and arrested the suspect.

6:51 p.m.: A bag and its contents, valued at $300, was reported stolen from a vehicle while parked at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

9:50 p.m.: A front door was reported damaged at a residence in the 1200 block of West 16th Street.

10:51 p.m.: A Bearcat XL portable tree stand, valued at $59.98, was reported stolen from the bed of a vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

Sept. 13

1:01 a.m.: A male subject was reportedly assaulted by two male suspects in the 300 block of West 24th Street. The subject sustained minor injury to the face.

Arrests

Sept. 12

9:07 p.m.: Matthew A. Taverner, 21, of Lee’s Summit, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana.

Sept. 13

12:01 a.m.: Scott P. Denker, 29, of Stover, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding.

12:21 a.m.: Donald S. Campbell, 58, of Stover, was arrested in Benton County on charges of driving while intoxicated and lane violation.

1:50 a.m.: William L. Snider, 21, of Calhoun, was arrested in Henry County on charges of driving with a suspended license, failure to move a vehicle to the flow of traffic, failure to drive on the right half of the road resulting in an accident and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
