Oct. 8 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Oct. 7

11:30 a.m.: Kyle Jacob Burnett, 23, of the 400 block of East Boonville Street, was arrested at his residence on a charge of assault.

Incidents

Oct. 3

3:24 p.m.: A male subject reportedly stole a PlayStation 4 game controller from a business in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The suspect was located and admitted to inadvertently taking the controller. He was issued a municipal court summons for stealing.

Oct. 6

10:31 a.m.: A male 8-month-old boxer mix puppy was reported stolen in the 1700 block of East 15th Street.

1:59 p.m.: Two juvenile males reportedly stole unspecified items, valued at $265, from a business in the 1400 block of South Limit Avenue.

5:05 p.m.: A hit-and-run vehicle accident was reported in a business parking lot in the 3400 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

6:39 p.m.: A Garmin GPS unit, valued at $100, was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 900 block of West Seventh Street.

Oct. 7

8:33 a.m.: A television, router and camcorder were reported stolen from a residence in the 600 block of Third Street.

8:33 a.m.: A pink Trails End folding chair was reported stolen from a residence’s front porch in the 1400 block of South Grand Avenue.

10:49 a.m.: $20.96 worth of merchandise was reported stolen from a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

Arrests

Oct. 6

4:14 a.m.: Kyle Edward Sanders, of Warsaw, was arrested near the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Harding Avenue in Sedalia on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding.

Incidents

Oct. 2

11:31 p.m.: Pettis County deputies were in a vehicle pursuit with a white Mercedes near U.S. Highway 50 and state Route TT. Deputies continued to pursue into Morgan County where they called the pursuit off due to the suspect driving in the wrong lane of traffic, putting other people in danger. No suspect information is available.

Oct. 4

12:26 p.m.: Several mailboxes and a post were reported damaged in the 300 block of West Coombs Street in Smithton.

Oct. 5

8:14 a.m.: A mailbox was reportedly knocked off its post in the 27000 block of Selken Road in Smithton. Damage is estimated at $75.

10:37 a.m.: A theft of unspecified items was reported in the 22000 block of U.S. Highway 65 in Sedalia.

Oct. 7

1:18 p.m.: Peace disturbance was reported in the 300 block of North Broadway Boulevard in Houstonia.

Oct. 6

12:15 p.m.: Jesus E. Chavez-Talamantes, 25, of Kansas City, Kansas, was arrested in Saline County on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
