Oct. 10-11 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Sedalia Police Department

Arrests

Oct. 9

12:55 a.m.: SPD officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a business in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, Jerry Cook, 31, of the 1200 block of South Osage Avenue, walking away from the scene near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Hancock Avenue. Cook was arrested on charges of first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. The knife used in the stabbing was found on the suspect. The unidentified victim was taken by private vehicle to Bothwell Regional Health Center before officers arrived. The victim’s status was unknown at the time of the report.

Incidents

Oct. 7

4:04 p.m.: DVDs and other miscellaneous items, valued at more than $200, were reported stolen by three female subjects from a business in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard.

5:51 p.m.: A female subject reportedly stole $60 from a female victim in the 1200 block of East 18th Street. The victim was able to provide suspect information.

Arrests

Oct. 8

10:50 p.m.: Yvette D. Thurston, 51, of Slater, was arrested in Saline County on charges of driving while intoxicated and careless and imprudent driving.

Oct. 9

1:49 a.m.: William J. Fleeger, 49, of Kansas City, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a firearm, driving with a revoked license, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to display valid license plates.
