This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.
Sedalia Police Department
1:11 p.m.: Zechariah K. Hoskins-Ellis, 17, of the 1600 block of West Broadway Boulevard, was arrested in the 1600 block of West Broadway Boulevard on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, distributing a controlled substance near a school and distributing a controlled substance.
1:29 p.m.: Brandon M. Markell, 19, of the 2300 block of East 16th Street, was arrested at his residence on charges of distributing marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
7:18 p.m.: Timothy Ray Keizer Smith, 28, no address given, was arrested near the intersection of West 17th Street and South Missouri Avenue on charges of resisting arrest, driving with a suspended/revoked license, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
Smith was arrested after a traffic stop was initiated and he fled from the scene in his vehicle. He eventually lost control of his vehicle, came to a stop in a ditch and fled on foot. He was taken into custody a short time later without incident. He was also arrested for a warrant for armed criminal action and first degree assault.
2:48 a.m.: Elmer J. Miley Jr., 32, of the 300 block of East Cooper Avenue, was arrested in the 600 block of East 14th Street on a charge of second degree assault. Officers responded to Bothwell Regional Health Center where the suspect had reportedly become combative toward medical staff while receiving medical treatment. He allegedly struck one victim and spit blood and saliva on two victims’ faces.
Missouri State Highway Patrol
3 p.m.: Dyke F. Hensley, 56, of Kansas City, was arrested in Morgan County on charges of driving with a revoked license and resisting arrest.
10:40 a.m.: Stacy L. May, 52, of Springfield, was arrested in Pettis County on charges of possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and possession of up to 35 grams of synthetic cannabinoid.
