This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 9

1:26 a.m.: Jamie L. Ramos, 19, and Alex S. Biechl, 21, both of the 1300 block of South Ohio Avenue, were both issued a municipal court summons at their residence for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The items were found after officers responded to the residence for a domestic assault.

3:05 a.m.: Earnest Lee Brown Jr., 34, of the 26000 block of Goodwill Chapel Road, was arrested in the 300 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

4:52 p.m.: Guy P. Swopes, 52, of La Monte, was issued a municipal court summons in the 700 block of East Broadway Boulevard for stealing.

Jan. 10

7:11 a.m.: Irving A. Martin III, 32, of the 200 block of East Sixth Street, was issued a municipal court summons in the 800 block of East Broadway Boulevard for stealing. The suspect allegedly stole $5.13 worth of unspecified items from a business, which were later returned.

1:23 p.m.: Connor John Derek Moriarty, 22, of the 2000 block of South Warren Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 20th Street and South Park Avenue on a charge of driving with a suspended license.

5:10 p.m.: Brandon Nicholas Bom, 24, of the 1200 block of South Prospect Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

9:06 p.m.: Tyler J. O’Connell, 21, of Smithton, was arrested near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and Engineer Avenue on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. O’Connell was arrested after a traffic stop for having a headlight out, during which he gave consent to the officer to search his vehicle.

Incidents

Jan. 8

1:44 p.m.: Prescription medications, money, clothes and two bags were reported stolen from a locked vehicle in the 2700 block of South Ohio Avenue.

Jan. 9

6:45 p.m.: A complainant reported a suspect pushed a juvenile victim into a table in the 1500 block of Third Street, causing a black eye.
