Jan. 19 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Jan. 10

3:27 a.m.: Tony James Capraro, 27, of Green Ridge, Brandon Michael Moore, 28, of the 1500 block of Washington Avenue, Joe Merle McClendon II, 32, of the 14300 block of Harrison Avenue, and Christopher D. Haskew, 30, of the 4200 block of South Kentucky Avenue, were all arrested in the 300 block of West 10th Street on a charge of second degree assault. Officers were dispatched to a large disturbance in the 300 block of West 10th Street and made contact with a victim who had been badly beaten.

10:29 p.m.: Michael A. Eaton, 18, of Cole Camp, Jacob D. Eaton, 17, of Cole Camp, Jacob Lee Charles Etter, 19, of the 1300 block of South Quincy Avenue and Terry Gene Doyle Jr., 20, of the 100 block of West 11th Street, were all arrested near the intersection of East 12th Street and South Ohio Avenue on charges of second degree robbery and third degree assault.

Officers were dispatched to a disturbance involving weapons. Further investigation revealed four male suspects contacted the victim to purchase marijuana. The suspects intended to rob the victim of his marijuana. When the victim arrived with the drugs, the suspects noticed he was in possession of a firearm, which turned out to be a BB gun. The four suspects assaulted the victim and stole his iPhone and BB gun; the items were later recovered by officers.

The victim sustained injuries to the head and neck and was treated and released from Bothwell Regional Health Center. The four suspects were taken into custody a short time later and were all taken to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold pending the filing of charges. Each was issued a $100,000 bond, cash or surety.

Jan. 14

7:08 p.m.: Stacey Lynn Craig, 39, of the 29000 block of state Route M, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of stealing.

Jan. 16

10:36 p.m.: Steven M. Clarey, 50, of Knoxville, Iowa, was arrested in the 3200 block of West Broadway Boulevard on a charge of stealing.

Incidents

Jan. 17

3:07 p.m.: A male subject claims someone shot at him while driving his truck near the intersection of West Pettis Street and North Ohio Avenue. The subject’s truck had damage consistent with possibly being shot.

3:18 p.m.: A female victim reported two subjects known to her forced their way into her residence in the 1100 block of East 13th Street. The subjects allegedly assaulted the subject, broke several items in her residence and left. The victim said they were upset due to a dispute over property. She sustained a minor injury to her nose, but declined medical treatment.
