Feb. 23 Police Reports


This list is a sampling of crime in Sedalia and the surrounding area. Information is taken from official police reports, which do not necessarily contain statements from all parties involved in each case.

Arrests

Feb. 20

10:50 a.m.: Tyler G. Halderman, 21, of the 1800 block of South Carr Avenue, was arrested in the 100 block of East 16th Street on charges of stealing, first degree burglary, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

A theft of two $10 lottery tickets was reported at a business in the 100 block of East 16th Street in an area where customers are not allowed. Video footage was available. Upon arrest, the suspect was found to be in possession of three Schedule 4 pills and marijuana.

Feb. 21

4:11 a.m.: Janeth Gonzalez, 24, of the 1400 block of Stewart Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of South Thompson Avenue and East 11th Street on charges of possession of synthetic narcotics, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An officer stopped a vehicle for defective brake lights and not using a turn signal. The investigation revealed the driver was in possession of marijuana and controlled medications. An abuse/lose license suspension was also recommended due to the suspect’s possession of drugs while operating a motor vehicle.

Feb. 22

2:30 a.m.: Amanda Nicole Martz, 32, of the 300 block of North Randolph Avenue, was arrested near the intersection of East Fifth Street and South Summit Avenue on a charge of possession of marijuana.

An officer observed a suspect walking in the middle of the road, in violation of Sedalia municipal ordinance, and due to the unusual time, he stopped the suspect, who was found in possession of marijuana.

Feb. 22

6:47 a.m.: Four nail guns, two levels, nail bag, air compressor, yellow Stanley work radio and wheelbarrow, a combined value of $2,600, were reported stolen from a trailer at a construction site in the 900 block of Mitchell Road. The lock was reported missing from the trailer door.

Arrests

Feb. 21

9:06 p.m.: Edward A. Fleming, 49, of Blairstown, was arrested in Henry County on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license, failure to stop at a stop sign and no insurance.

10:04 p.m.: Dustin O. Deacon, 23, of Columbia, was arrested in Moniteau County on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, no insurance and failure to drive on the right half of the road.

Feb. 22

12:31 a.m.: Kelvin L. Starr, 34, of Raytown, was arrested in Saline County on charges of possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

1:58 p.m.: Douglas E. Coffey, 44, of Windsor, was arrested in Johnson County on charges of felon in possession of a firearm and speeding.
