“Offensive line (is) bringing back four starters, solid running game,” said coach Tony Braby. “We will have a good competition for a running back position and will need to develop a passing game with new receivers.”
Defense: Mixture of even and odd fronts
“Very tough front seven,” Braby said. “The big question mark is our secondary, which will be unproven with a lot of first year players trying to earn a starting position.”
Cooper returns for his second season as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback and has a veteran offensive line in front of him. The Cardinals return 13 letter winners and seven starters on offense and seven on defense.
Two years removed from an unbeaten regular season and a trip to the semifinals, Tipton looks to recover from its 4-6 season in 2013 that began with the Cardinals’ first regular season loss since 2006 and ended tragically with the loss of Chad Stover.
“We will bring back a lot of experienced players this year and we look forward to the upcoming season as we try to get back on the winning track,” Braby said. “The memory of Chad Stover will always be with us as we play this season, inspired to uphold Chad’s love of the game of football.”
