Head Coach: Danny Morrison, sixth year

Last Season: 10-1, playing a mixture of varsity, JV and 8-man. Beat Norborne in first round of 8-man districts, lost to Southwest in second round.

Top Players Returning: Boone Kroenke, QB-DB; Heath Renno, RB-S; Blake Dulaban, C-LB; Branigan Roark, FB-LB; Connor Spunaugle, MLB-OL;

Top Players lost: Dalton Drexler, FB-MLB

Offense: “We’ve got some good skill players, but if we don’t have that front line doing their job it donesn’t really matter how good they are,” Morrison said.

Defense: Our entire defensive crew is young,” Morrison said. “Really I could name every guy. They are all going to play an integral part in what we do.”

Outlook: The Cardinals are still building a program that only lose one player from a season ago. They will try to follow up a 10-1 season that included varsity, JV and 8-man games on the schedule.

Lincoln’s numbers are up and will play a full varsity schedule this season.

“We knew we’d have a lot coming with our youth program and our junior high,” Morrison said. “I think we’re ready. We’re excited about it.”

The Cardinals will once again have some youth, but will not lack much experience since many of the players got varsity action right out of the gate.

“They are going to work hard and do what you tell them,” Morrison said. “They hate losing.”

Calling the signals under center will be sophomore Boone Kroenke.

“He’s got a great arm so we feel like we’re going to be able to do some passing and running to keep the defense on their heels,” Morrison said.
