Cole Camp will present their eighth Annual Taste of Cole Camp from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, on Presidents Day, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Auditorium.

The event is sponsored by the Cole Camp Chamber of Commerce and proceeds will benefit chamber activities. Judy Silva, a chamber member, said that there will be 12 vendors this year with a variety of food to sample.

“It’s worth it,” she said. “You won’t go away hungry.”

Participating vendors include, will known Cole Camp eateries such as Calgaro’s Pizza, Handel Haus Tea Room, Maple Street Cafe and Bakery and the German Table, plus many more.

“We give you a plate and people serve you, and you walk around and sample from the various vendors,” she added.

“It’s an event that we hold every year as a fundraiser for the chamber,” said Sam Cole owner of The German Table and chair of the event. “It’s for the public to see what we have to offer here. It’s a chance for all the businesses in town to show people what they’re about and a good chance for businesses to showcase new offerings.”

Cole said that The German Table is planning to bring appetizers and homemade pretzels while Sweets an ‘Tiques is planning to bring chocolate popcorn, peanut clusters and sugar cookies.

“And 4-K Cheese will be bring their soups,” Cole said.

Handel Haus will be serving desserts such as bread pudding and also chicken and ham salad while Maple Street Bakery will offer muffins and homemade breads.

“You can’t get a bad meal at Handle Haus or Maple Street, and Calgaro’s will be serving some of their pizza,” Silva said.

She added that Classic Steakburgers brought soup last year and may do so this year.

“The owners are very nice and the service too,” she said of Classic. “We don’t go hungry down here in Cole Camp.”

Casey’s General Store is also bringing their pasta. Silva said many people don’t realize Casey’s has pasta.

“When you think of Casey’s you think of pizza,” she said.

“Charlies (Buffet) is going to be there, and they always have a delicious dessert table,” Cole added.

Both women said the doors open at 5 p.m. and participants must come in the front door only, no one will be allowed to enter the food area before 5 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $10 in advance for adults and $12 at the door; for children 6 to 12 years-old tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. For more information contact the Cole Camp Chamber of Commerce at 660-668-2295.
