Second letter, same subject. Again I must write to the editor in hopes this also makes the newspaper.
Why have the American Flags not been placed back in the churches? What the hell is going on? I spoke with a Catholic priest this past week (retired now, lives in Jefferson City, was at one time assigned as a Military Chaplain.) He tells me that no order has came down from anywhere for the churches to remove the American Flag from in front of the church. He tells me that this is a “bone-headed decision.” being made by our local churches.
I spoke to my pastor Jim at the First United Methodist Church Celebration Center. He assured me that he would get with the church leadership and get back to me. This was three weeks ago. Not a word to date have I heard. Yes, I know this letter is not going to sit well with him or for that matter with Father Mark at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. So be it.
Gentlemen, I fought hard behind that flag and for what is stands for. Let me say it this way, “if many had not fought and yes died behind that flag, ole’ glory, chances are your church would not be here today.” Put the flag back in its proper place, back in front of our church congregations.
