The Lafayette Lancers beat Ozark 14-8 and Raymore-Peculiar 13-6 Saturday to win the Black Pool in the West Central Missouri Baseball Tournament at Liberty Park Stadium
The Lancers, Smith-Cotton and Ray-Pec tied for first with 3-1 records, but Lafayette won the tiebreaker for total run differential for the tournament.
Blue Springs South won the Gold Pool, Oak Grove the Red Pool and Boonville the White Pool.
Green Ridge 6, Cole Camp 5
Libby Dove singled and scored the game-winning run Saturday, and the second-seeded Green Ridge Lady Tigers beat third-seeded Cole Camp 6-5 in the semifinals of the Kaysinger Conference softball tournament at Centennial Park.
Dove, who also homered, advanced to second on an error by the left fielder and scored on Molly Turner’s base hit up the middle. Turner finished 2 for 4 with a double.
Samantha Unkel was the winning pitcher, yielding five runs on eight hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts in seven innings.
Green Ridge 15, Sacred Heart 0
Libby Dove and Samantha Unkel had three hits apiece, and the second-seeded Green Ridge Lady Tigers routed seventh-seeded Sacred Heart 15-0 in four innings in the first round of the Kaysinger Conference softball tournament Saturday at Centennial Park.
Dove went 3 for 4 with two doubles and one RBI. Unkel went 3 for 4 with a double, two home runs and four RBIs. BreAnna Peck, Mackenley Scotten and Molly Turner had two hits each.
Unkel was the winning pitcher, permitting three hits and no walks in four innings. She struck out five.
Green Ridge scored 12 runs in the fourth inning.
TRACK AND FIELD
Santa Fe Relays
Isaac Calvert brought home two second-place medals Saturday, and the Smithton Tigers totalled 11 overall at the Santa Fe Relays track and field meet in Alma.
Calvert was second in the 1600-meter run and the 3200.
The boys 4x400 team was third, and the boys 4x100 team was fourth.
Whitney Fisher took sixth in the triple jump, Carrie McClain was seventh in the 1600 and 3200, and Mason Elgin was seventh in the 200.
Annie DeHaven placed eighth in the 800, and Aaron Hensley was eighth in the 200.
Sweet Springs 12, St. Paul Lutheran 0
Kati Viets pitched a five-inning no-hitter Friday, and the Sweet Springs Lady Greyhounds beat St. Paul Lutheran 12-0 in an I-70 Conference softball game at Sweet Springs.
Viets struck out nine and walked two. The game ended early because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Megan Evans and Christina Higgins paced Sweet Springs with three hits each. Higgins went 3 for 3 with six RBIs. Evans went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, two stolen bases and three runs scored.
