Northwest beat Pilot Grove 7-4 Thursday in Hughsville.
A second inning rally put the Mustangs ahead 4-0 before the Tigers tied the game with three in the third and one in the fourth. Northwest jumped back in front with two in the fifth and added another in the sixth.
Northwest’s Trey Green pitched four innings, allowed four runs on three hits and struck out four. Truman Leicher came on in relief and pitched three shut-out innings, allowing one hit.
Reagan Meisenheimer pitched five innings for Pilot Grove and allowed six runs on five hits. He struck out five. Trenton Young pitched an inning in relief and allowed a run on one hit.
Cortlen Austin went 2 for 3 for the Mustangs including a triple. Ryan Rafferty drove in two runs and Green, Mathew Locke and Daniel Blaylock each drove in one.
Layne Hoff drove in a pair of runs for the Tigers, going 2 for 3 at the plate.
