Several members of the Sedalia Speed track club have qualified for the AAU regionals in Joplin.


June 14 in Lee’s Summit, eight athletes from Sedalia Speed took top-16 finishes to qualify.


In the nine-year-old age group, Charlise Perez was seventh in shot put and eighth in javelin, Caden Quick was fifth in shot put, sixth in javelin and 15th in long jump.


In the 11-year-old age group, Caleb Bush was 11th in the 400 and fourth in the 80.


Isaiah Robinson was third in the 400 and eighth in the 800 in the 12-year-old age group.


In the 17-18 group, Mariona Ward was fourth in the 110 hurdles and seventh in the 400 hurdles, Blaine Sarabia was 12th in the 100 and 10th in long jump, Chance Johnson was third in high jump and Troy Lauer was ninth in the 800.


Six athletes qualified June 7 in El Dorado, Kan.


Regina Robinson won the 100 in the 10-year-old age group. She was also second in the 200 and second in the long jump.


Also in the 10-year old age group, Sophia Powell was 13th in the 100 and sixth in long jump.


In the 12-year-old age group, Isaiah Robinson was third in the 200, third in the 400 and eighth in the long jump. Drake Peterson was 10th in the 200, eighth in the 400 and 15th in the 800.



In the 15-16 age group, Saige Peterson was fourth in the 400 and third in the 800 while Zach Powell was 11th in the 100, 11th in the 200 and sixth in long jump.
