Sedalia’s Jonathan Cornell again took the checkered flag at Callaway Speedway in Fulton on Friday, following his win Thursday at Couble X Speedway in California.
Cornell won the Friday race in the ASCS Warrior Region Sprint Car feature event. He slipped past Jason Johnson on the 22nd lap of the 25-lap event after Johnson was held up by lapped traffic. Cornell led the final three laps for the win.
In the 600 cc micro sprints, Travis Arnold of Pilot Grove took second. Stanley Kreisel of Warsaw was ninth. Dwayne Benson of Sweet Springs took 21st, Nick Rasa of Sedalia was 22nd, Chris Kock of Sweet Springs was 23rd and Quinton Benson of Sweet Springs took 24th.
In the street stocks, Tipton’s Harlan Dowell finished 12th.
Mike Schrader of Sedalia was second in the hobby stocks with Tipton’s Eddie Lavery fourth, Sedalia’s Will Register and Kevin Prall fifth and sixth, Windsor’s Roger Deatherage and Chuck Coffey seventh and eighth and Tipton’s Bryan Alumbaugh 11th.
At Central Missouri Sppedway, the holiday weekend saw racing in the Tom Wilson Memorial BBQ Bowl.
Otterville’s Chad Staus was seventh in the B Modified feature while La Monte’s Cody Frazon took 13th and Sedalia’s Ernie Walker and Richard Brainard finished 15th and 16th.
Sedalia’s Terry Schultz was seventh in the USRA Modified 50-lap event.
