Man seriously injured in head-on collision with tractor-trailer
An Independence man was injured in a head-on collision at 9:30 p.m. Monday in Moniteau County.
Forrest L. Rush, 21, was traveling east behind a tractor-trailer on U.S. Highway 50 when he attempted to pass in a no-passing zone near Class Crossing Drive and struck head-on a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Jessie D. Donaldson, 45, of Choteau, Okla., according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Rush was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. Reports indicate it is unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.
Driver injured in motorcycle accident
A Billings, Mo., man was injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in Moniteau County.
Caleb J.D. Bussard, 22, was eastbound on Highway 87 near Prairie Hill Road when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting him, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Bussard was taken to Capital Region Hospital with serious injuries. Reports indicate he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
