If you enjoy outdoor activities in the Mark Twain National Forest please comment on the proposed Forest Health Initiative project before the comment period closes on December 14, 2015.
Take a video camera with you when you visit the forest because the pictures you take before the Summer of 2016 will show how your favorite places used to look before they logged 72.6 square miles.
They plan to build 150 miles of temporary, sediment producing logging road. If you enjoy fishing, do it now before the streams turn brown with mud.
You can request a hard copy of the scoping report that describes the proposed timber sale by calling Supervisor Nightingale’s office at 573-364-4621. The scoping report is also available on-line at http://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=47969
