HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

La Monte 6, Leeton 0

La Monte starter Madison Harris allowed three hits and struck out seven Monday in a complete game 6-0 shutout of Leeton.

Sandra Arroyo was 2-4 at the plate with a run. Harris was 3-4 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Vada DeMotte was 2-3 with double, triple and 2 RBIs.

The Lady Vikings host Smithton tomorrow at 5 p.m.

Santa Fe 12, Green Ridge 11

Santa Fe edged the Lady Tigers 12-11 Monday in Green Ridge’s home opener.

Bailey Hardy collected three hits and RBIs apiece. Kalie Crawford was 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

Green Ridge Starter Quincy Scotten allowed two earned runs in three innings while punching out six.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL

Smith-Cotton 7, Olympia 5

The Tigers, competing at the Florida League High School Invitational in Orlando, defeated Olympia 7-5 in the pool play of the tournament.

Roberto Ramirez pitched a complete game, striking out eight.

The Titans scored three runs in the ninth inning before Ramirez induced a Miguel Perez fly ball to center for the final out.

Chase Plymell collected three hits, a run and an RBI in four at-bats.

Smith-Cotton plays Boone in game two of pool play tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Senior Legion Tryouts in April

The Sedalia Travelers American Legion Post 642 baseball team will host tryouts at Liberty Stadium/Dey Field 1 p.m. Sunday, April 17 for athletes 19 years or under.
